Domenico Orefice was born in Naples and at the age of 15 moved to Florence and began his studies in art, first in high school and later at Polimoda. Moving to Florence, a smaller city than Naples, broadened his view on everything related to fashion. Florence has provided constant inspiring experiences: visiting material fairs, such as Pitti, getting to experiment with alternative materials, meeting buyers and getting to know the local artisans have contributed to his cultural growth.
As a designer Domenico tends to use Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and Ray Kawakubo as references of masters in the mixture between pattern making and draping to create a garment with a perfect fit, undeniable functionality and rich in terms of research. Today, Domenico’s collections speak about relevant topics in today’s society, thinking about them in a futuristic and constructive way.
