How to get your products into stores

One of the burning questions for most designers is 'how to get your products in stores?'. In this webinar, retailers will explain what it is they look for and expect from designers, when assessing whether their products are suitable for them and their customers.

Amanda Rick - Head Buyer at Zando

With over 20 years' experience in the fashion industry, Amanda started her buying career in the UK, working for big department stores eg: House of Fraser & TK Maxx, in the 2 years before moving back to SA she changed her path to start a licensed intimates collection for Lipsy Clothing and Help for Heroes, charity. Once arriving back in SA in 2011, she joined Zando and to this day is the longest employer for Jumia.  She has built the brand portfolio, working with both local and international brands throughout the 11years, being an integral part of the ecommerce market growth in SA.


Hazel Pillay - General Manager at Pick 'n Pay

Pick n Pay Clothing is led by Hazel Pillay. She has an MBA from UCT's Graduate School of Business. Hazel specialises in developing clear retail propositions that are unique in order to create value for both internal and external stakeholders. She has also developed strategies to grow local, including procurement, as well as creating Futurewear with Gavin Rajah, which is an incubator for young South African designers.


Mikael Hanan - Founder CEO of FIELDS

Mikael is the founder, CEO and Creative Director of FIELDS, a contemporary menswear brand. On completing his MBA, he spent 5 years as Co-founder & COO of Superbalist.com, a subsidiary of Takealot.com. In 2020 he joined ARC as employee #2, entrusted with creating and building the brand and digital offering.


Kiba Bam - Head of the Design Incubation Program at TFG Design Centre

Kiba Bam known as THE AUTHORITY OF RETAIL on her YouTube channel, also heads up the Design Incubation Program at TFG Design Centre. Having 15 years' experience in the retail and Supply Chain industry, 8 of those years were spent as a Retail Buyer with Woolworths, EDCON and Clicks. She has also worked with over 250 suppliers if finding them access to the retail market in South Africa and the SADC Region. Her passion is in education and sharing knowledge with suppliers and entrepreneurs that can instantly assist their businesses to grow. Kiba is a pioneer in her industry and naturally leads from the front.
